The mint exposition

Kremnica Mint (Mint Kremnica State Enterprise, at present) has been continuously minting top of the brand coins for about seven hundred years.

The story started on November 17th 1328, when the king Charles Robert of Anjou promoted Kremnica to free royal town and appointed the town with coin-minting privilege.

Exposition of the Mint offers the opportunity to see interesting showpieces in newly reconstructed historical building and also tour via the Old Mint. Well-preserved historical minting machines of trademark Vulkan creates technological monument of supra-national category. Visitors also have the opportunity to see the products from medals made of different metals through coin tenders of countries in other continents to valuable memorable coins made of precious metals, except jetton-minting exhibit. Short movies about the history of the Mint are also part of tour. Every visitor receives jetton with motif of the mint, except admission ticket. During the tour visitors can try the jetton-minting on the historical minting machine Balancier. New Mint areas with the most up-to-date machines are opened for public since autumn 2008. New Slovak euro-coins were also minted here.
